CME Group Launches Single-Stock Futures for SpaceX, Micron and 53 Others
CME Group debuts cash-settled single-stock futures on 55 U.S. equities, offering nearly round-the-clock trading access to major names.
CME Group on Monday rolled out cash-settled single-stock futures covering 55 U.S. equities, giving investors a new way to gain exposure to companies including SpaceX and Micron nearly 23 hours a day. The exchange operator also introduced micro-sized contracts on 22 of those names, lowering the barrier to entry for retail and smaller institutional traders seeking leveraged or hedging positions outside standard market hours.
The launch marks a significant expansion of CME's equity derivatives lineup, which has historically been dominated by index-based products like S&P 500 futures. Single-stock futures allow traders to speculate on or hedge individual company performance without directly owning shares, settling in cash rather than requiring delivery of the underlying stock.

Futures contracts on SpaceX offer a rare avenue for public market participants to take a directional view on the company's valuation without a traditional IPO.
