Space firm Intuitive Machines has finalized its purchase of Goonhilly Earth Station and COMSAT LLC, expanding its communications infrastructure.
Intuitive Machines (NASDAQ: LUNR) announced Monday it has formally closed its acquisition of Goonhilly Earth Station and COMSAT LLC, completing a deal the Houston-based space company had previously disclosed to investors and the public.
The addition of Goonhilly Earth Station — a historic and strategically significant satellite communications hub located in Cornwall, England — gives Intuitive Machines a substantial foothold in ground-based deep-space communications infrastructure. COMSAT LLC adds further communications services capability to the company's growing portfolio.

The dual acquisition signals Intuitive Machines' ambition to build out an end-to-end space services business that stretches from lunar landers to the ground networks needed to relay data between Earth and cislunar space. The move comes as the commercial space sector intensifies investment in communications infrastructure, with lunar exploration programs from NASA and international partners driving demand for reliable relay networks beyond low-Earth orbit.
